Overview

BUSINESS NEEDS: The client needed an online environment in which viewers could watch each of the 10 episodes, shown over the 12 week season, for Starlicious. In addition to the trivia show, No Soap Radio Entertainment wanted to provide celebrity enthusiasts from around the country the ability to play an online trivia game of their own.

SOLUTION/STRATEGY: In response to these needs, we designed and developed an online environment to showcase the episodes and encourage video watches and game plays. The trivia game was built using a combination of technologies including a custom built database, Flash, PHP and XML. Here, the questions are shown in a timed, multiple-choice environment, and users can register (via Facebook Connect, MySpace ID, etc.) to post high scores, challenge friends and compete for prizes. The prizes include the opportunity to be a contestant on a future episode of Starlicious, as well as a grand-prize tropical getaway.

RESULTS: Half way through the first season, Starlicious was exceeding projections and building a loyal audience. We are currently working with the client on the planning for Season 2, currently scheduled to premiere in mid 2011.
