Pearl Insider Blog Website
How do you create a compelling blog? We recently worked with some individual writers in The Pearl District, a new, upcoming neighborhood in Portland, Oregon, to create a community blog for sharing goings-on in this 14-by-14-block area. As small as that sounds, the area is PACKED with an unimaginable number of shops, stores, bars, galleries and scheduled, as well as ad-hoc community events. But up until this point, nobody was bringing it to life on the Web, or communicating it to the masses.
Using a blog engine, dynamic email newsletters automated via posts from an RSS feed, flickr photo mashups, viral email invites, and more, eROI created the Pearl Insider. Already, this blog is getting great reviews in local magazines and newspapers. If that was the sole driver of the site, it would be great, but the fact that the community is growing around it each day makes us ecstatic. We embrace the simplistic force that blogging and niche content can provide to create a voice for both online and offline communities. You should too.
