Konami, the world's third largest video game maker, launched the Coded Arms video game entirely via an that included a third-party shooter and to drive subscribers to the microsite. The email creative effectively connected with the primarily 18-24 year old male target audience with a clear and compelling call to action: "Destroy your Friend’s Website."

This led to a site which featured the ability to use Coded Arms weapons to launch an attack – using missiles, grenades, bombs and guns – on the website of your choice and shoot it full of holes. Hardly the kind of thing a 19-year-old college hacker-wannabe can pass up without a try.
