PORTLAND, OR and AUSTIN, TX, April 6, 2005: eROI Inc., a full-service e-marketing agency, and UnsubCentral, Inc, the industry leader in email list suppression management solutions, today announced a strategic alliance designed to automate CAN-SPAM compliance across the eROI customer base. Under the terms of the agreement, the UnsubCentral Affiliate Manager™ software has been integrated into the eROI proprietary email solution. Now, eROI's email marketing customers have fine-grained control and management of all email suppression list activity, enabling eROI to achieve CAN-SPAM compliance in a more secure and seamless fashion than before.

The CAN-SPAM (Controlling the Assault of Non-Solicited P^rnography and Marketing) Act of 2003 is legislation passed by Congress aimed at preventing SP^M by prohibiting senders of unsolicited commercial email from disguising their identities by using a false return address or misleading subject line. The Act also bars senders from harvesting addresses off of websites and requires these emails to allow recipients (via an "Unsubscribe" option) to indicate that they do not want future mass mailings. The law went into effect January 1, 2004.
